The Assyrian Australian Medical Association is the first of its’ kind to be stablished with the core objectives to serve our diversely unique yet closely woven colorful community and its’ members of the Assyrian, Chaldean, Syriac and other closely related fabrics.

We are the association with the most multi-lingual members serving the most multi-lingual community. Amongst the languages and dialects which we speak apart from English are; Assyrian, Chaldean, Syriac, Aramaic, Arabic, Persian, Kurdish & Turkish.

We pride ourselves at AAMA for its being a none-for-profit organization and that we are all voluntarily and whole-heartedly volunteering and dedicating from our times out of pure love to our community.

This great establishment is an initiative which came to light as a direct result of thoughts, efforts, hard work and dedication of medical doctors in various fields of medicine and again of different denominations and affiliations reflecting the wonderful diversity of our community and its’ medical workforce.

It’s been established by local general practitioners and specialists to serve the local community primarily, but at the same time with the intent to create a network and connections with colleagues interstate and abroad in order to reach out and meet the needs of our people wherever they are.

At AAMA we strive to maintain high levels of standards and practices via following best evidence-based medicine, continuing professional development and education. We pride to have colleagues of high academic standards who serve as a great resource and mentors. Also; we have our future generations in sight and actively involve our medical students to be parts of this institution for their benefits and ours.

AAMA, via its’ members, endeavors to promote high standards of health for the community and works to strengthen the networking and collaboration between the various stake holders in order to achieve and deliver the optimal healthcare by bringing together the different health professionals and their varied and diverse expertise on one hand, and by communicating and putting the gained knowledge in more effective and practical way for our community on the other.

We also work on educating the community in different languages and via different platforms and outlets to raise awareness about the most up to date health concerns and public health orders and initiatives and in line with directions and guidelines of the health authorities in Australia. This creates more understanding of the Australian health system and the importance of heeding the advice of the official health experts which in turn leads into smoother integration into society, minizine the risk of chronic diseases and achieving better health outcomes in general.

AAMA successfully delivered its’ first Medical Conference on 19.11.2023 with the support of local sponsors and with medical material delivered by expert specialist in the field with relevance to the general practice.
The delegates included a variety of medical doctors of different specialties and disciplines, medical students, nurses, allied health and other interested individuals.
It was staged at Lantana Venues in Bonnyrigg Heights with very professional reception style and catering.
The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, and this has given us more drive and enthusiasm to work towards preparing more educations events, seminars and meetings in the future and in line with our objectives and vision.
